INTERNAL WALL INSULATION
Here, we fitted natural wood fibre internal wall insulation to the solid walls in a period town house in Brighton. Solid walls are notoriously difficult to insulate correctly. They must retain the ability to “breathe†which prevents moisture from building up, therefore preventing moisture related problems. In this case, we used an insulation system available from NBT (natural building technologies) and a natural lime render. The reduction of heat loss of the room were immediate and provided a more comfortable environment which has no detrimental effects on the fabric of the building. The product itself exhibits a minimal environmental impact.
